I live in a log home in the woods in Silvana, Washington and we use wood exclusively as our fuel source. Once I counted how many times I handled a piece - between upright tree and into the wood stove was ten times. We are fortunate to have plenty of Alder to chop down every year and sometimes, depending on winter storms we also might have a maple or cedar that have blown down as we did last year.
