'Raked & Ready' Canadian west coast Impressionism, paintings of hay fields, southern Vancouver Island

Although it is perhaps not always our first thought

that we think of when we hear the word harvest,

hay is one of the most important crops of all.
Most areas of the country have long finished with haying

by the time pumpkins are being picked.

This piece was painted one evening in early July this

year while the men and equipment were still at work.

Oil on wood panel 9 x 12.
