"The Work Days End" By Amberson Art
This painting was inspired by the team of horses my grandfather had as a teenager. When he was 16 years old he would hire himself and his team out after school and on weekends to work in the fields. Quite a bit different from the after school jobs most modern teens have now days!
I guess this isn't exactly an example of "off the grid", since you wouldn't use public utilities to plow up a field. It does though, bring to mind a time when a lot of rural people lived without the modern comforts that grid living provides us today.
I wonder what they would think of our grid dependent lives?
