This portion of Washington's Puget Sound is exciting and varied because of all the islands which dot the area with beauty and provide plenty of camping and other outdoor activities. Mussel Beach, on Whidbey Island, named for all the mussels clinging to the rocks and the pilings of the dock from where this was painted.
