I love this time of year when the air is crisp and the trees have just started to turn yellow, brown, red and orange. In Eastern Washington there are many images like this along the rivers that criss-cross the landscape. Near the Wenatchee River is Nason Creek, in winter, a great starting point for cross-country skiing, but in the Fall simply a beautiful place to visit and meditate on the glories of ones surroundings.

Where the Crows Gather....Carol Chretien

Plant a tree...renew your resources. That is something that we can do.

This painting is one of my favorite trees in my town. It lives at the edge of the woods and looks as dead as can be until Spring. That in itself is pretty renewing.

I think of it as an old sentinel standing guard at what is left of dwindling open space but thankfully our town does have a fair share that is open.

RIVER VIEW - Carol Chretien

One of my landscapes painted several years ago from the banks of the East Branch of the Westport River in MA where I live.
My Husband was building a house on this site and it was just begging to be painted.
End of the day light hitting the reeds in the marshy area at the edge of the river bank.

There is a really green effort to keep this river clean. It runs into the ocean at its end.
