Fragile Beauty

Two years ago, we had the amazing good fortune to make a trip to Antartica. The fragility of the earth and it's oceans was never so apparent.

Highrock Moss

This is a little painting I did during this past winter
en plein air. Clambering around on old worn rock
outcroppings, covered here and there with moss,
always reminds me of what will
endure here on "mother earth" despite us.
Oil on board 6 x 6.
Comments always welcomed.

High Desert

While taking a guided walk in the desert near Talieson West in Scottsdale, it became obvious to me that Mother Earth is taking good care of this part of her seemingly hostile and arid landscape. Every organism and plant is dependent on each other for it's very existance. For example, the falling leaves of the brittle bush nourishes the soil and if that plant were eradicated, most of the surrounding desert would not be able to thrive.
