Today's Painting: This little blue house sits across the plaza from my art studio in Old Town Spring, Texas. Unlike west Texas, trees are abundant in the southeast of the State. The architecture in Old Town Spring includes Victorian and Craftsman cottages alike. Spring Fest is just around the corner in March, so I'm painting lots of new artworks to show in the studio art gallery. This painting is oil on Crescent (illustration) board.

Water Water Everywhere

June was the last time I enjoyed the beach on Galveston Island. In July I painted the first three works shown below. The fourth was painted in September and is my impression of Hurricane Ike's approach as waters rose very quickly to destroy the 61st Street Fishing Pier and other structures, homes, businesses and lives.
