'Winter Moss-Highrock'(Canadian west coast Impressionism, southern Vancouver Island plein air painting, Highrock Park)

This is a small one painted en plein air this past winter.

The moss flourishes during the cool wet months here on

southern Vancouver Island and helps to retain moisture

in the rocky terrain for the spring grasses and wildflowers.

By summer those wonderful shades of green will

turn to golds and yellows as the hot sun does its work.

'Saltspring Cove'

This is the time of year when I am usually pretty pumped

and hard at the easel and other art related duties.

Looking back at some of the successes and trying to

put some perspective on the failures. This piece reminds

me to make sure that 'this year' I must paint outside

more than the last, something I really enjoy!

As the rain continues to fall I look forward to each day

I might get out to paint with great anticipation!

(Will it ever stop...jeeze!)
