'South Island Meadow'

Here on the southern tip of Vancouver Island

it is the time of the spring Camas bloom.

They are spectacular right now though they are

already past the prime.

I have been out painting them quite a bit lately.

This painting was worked up from a plein air piece

done last spring.

'Camas Trail'

This piece was painted last week among the

blooming Camas Lily's and flowering Garry Oaks
in one of our local parks.

We are at the peak bloom for these native flowers, which

is about three weeks behind last year. It is a magical

time of year here on the south coast of Vancouver Island.

Talk about your 'solar power'!

The amazing effect the power of the sun has on the

flora that surrounds us and the way that each day

of increasing daylight brings fourth the rapid growth in

spring is my kinda solar power!

Solar power has been with us all along,

it just seemed to easy to be good?

'Happy Earth Day Every Day'

Right now on southern Vancouver Island the Garry oak

meadows are filled with drifts of blooming

Camas lilys. To walk on the trails and see them and

paint them is truly a very Happy Earth Day!
