The amazing effect the power of the sun has on the

flora that surrounds us and the way that each day

of increasing daylight brings fourth the rapid growth in

spring is my kinda solar power!

Solar power has been with us all along,

it just seemed to easy to be good?

'December Afternoon'

Water conservation is often more about conserving wetlands

and forests than anything else. Water usage and waste

is of course very important but our destruction of forests

and wetlands lead to the degradation and collapse of

entire watersheds, the very life blood of us all.

The scene in the above painting is

of a natural peat bog which holds a small lake and is

surrounded by an important wetland which is again

surrounded by urban development. Large quantities

of surface runoff is contained and purified by this bog.

As well it is an important wildlife area and a

magnet to birds and artist =;-))

'Summer Trails'Canadian west coast Impressionism, oil painting of Thetis Lake Park, Victoria BC

Sometimes the scent of soul syrup is all it takes to

preserve and return me to a sense of balance in our world.

Walking on a trail such as this that leads into one

of the most popular parks in my area can bring

calm to another wise hectic and troubled world.
This particular park was set aside many years ago and

preserved as one of the natural jewels of southern

Vancouver Island. It continues to make memories that

will be preserved in the hearts and minds of

those who's souls have been touched by its beauty.

'Winter Refuge'

I'm trying to catch up here...I think "wildlife" was

the subject last week. This is a painting I did awhile ago.

This scene is of an urban wetland that is so

important to wildlife especially during weather events.

Of course artists, wild or otherwise, need them too...

=;-))
